From parking lot to park: City releases shortlist of designs for Liberty Village site

In June 2025, the city built a small gateway park on the northeast corner of the lot to provide early access for community use while planning and preparations for the future park are underway.

The temporary park, which is 720 square metres, will close in 2027 when construction begins on the permanent park, according to the city.

By Fall 2030, the site is expected to host a 4,900 square metre public park. But first, a jury of experts will choose a winning design.

The shortlisted conceptual bids were submitted by CCxA Architectes Paysagistes and gh3, Daoust Lestage, Hapa Collaborative and MJMA, Nippaysage and Saucier and Perrotte, and PMA and Henning Larsen.
